One student’s experience with open vs secret tutoring:

“I came into calculus from regular pre calc whereas most of my peers took honors pre calculus. My teacher made it her personal mission to discourage any regular pre calc girls from continuing her class— she was dead set on keeping her AP course average at a 5 and anyone who she didn’t think could do it, she wanted gone. Out of the 5-6 of us from regular pre calc, I was the only one who stuck around. Everyone else dropped to regular calculus.

Anyways, she eventually found out that I took calculus with you the summer prior and went on to make my senior year absolutely miserable. She graded every test harshly, told me to stop working with you, never let me answer problems, and said she was a better teacher. I started to literally fail the course, and despite my best efforts to meet with her to review, she always showed up late or gave minimal effort in helping me.

I secretly started taking calculus with you again and my grades instantly shot up, but my teacher credited herself... Just wanted to say thank you for helping me grow into the student I am today. I owe so much to the Vohra Method and without it, I probably wouldn’t have been able to complete calculus.”
