Sometimes, we see major issues in a given area. In those cases, the student must focus only on that area until it is significantly improved.
If a student has done 8 hours in a given week working on that area, then they can move to another topic during that week. However, a topic other than the "locked" topic cannot be studied until the student has done 8 full hours each week.
Parents can request that the lock be lifted, with the understanding that doing that goes against our counsel and dramatically reduces the chance of success.
The most common locks are "Math Locks" and "Reading Locks." That means that unless we are overridden with a direct parental request, the student can only study that area unless they have already done 8 hours per week of training in that area.
